SIGNING DAY!!

What a Day!

Yesterday was signing day, or National Letter of Intent Day.
I accepted the full-ride football scholarship offer from Idaho State University. Yep – I’m a Bengal now!!! Go Bengals!!!

There was a small ceremony at school for all the student-athletes who signed their Letter of Intent. Rocky Mountain had 10 athletes signing.

QR Codes were originally designed in Japan and placed in their cars for getting manufacturing information quickly.
Now they’re used all over the place for easy embedding of data.

Here’s mine! ;)

Loss to Centennial, 33-35

November 17th, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

It was a sad night last Friday when we lost to Centennial. Oh, for the want of two more points!

We played hard, and made up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. But, because of a missed extra point in the first quarter, we had to try for two points in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the pass was incomplete and we ran out of time. Thus, our season ended. :(

State Playoff Win against Eagle 70-42

November 7th, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

We had everything going for us Friday night when we put up 10 touchdowns against Eagle (last year’s state champions.) Neither team scored in the first quarter, but then we piled it on. Four touchdowns in the 2nd quarter, 3 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter.
We had around 700yards total offense!!!

Take a look at the video, especially on the fake punt — I pretty much leveled the guy…

Squash Borah 44-0

November 2nd, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

In our Division Playoff game against Borah, we finally got a shutout, 44-0.

We made a lot of long plays, including a 99-yard touchdown pass! In total, we accumulated over 550yards total offense.

I played well, but our team will need to tighten up some for our first State Playoff game this Friday.

Here’s highlights…

Shriner’s All-Star Invite

October 28th, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

I’ve been invited to play in the Shriner’s East-West All-Star game!! This game recognized outstanding senior players and allows them one more week of football at the end of the season. I’ll be playing on the East team.

The game will be Nov.27 at Eagle HS. The 8-man teams will play at 11am, and then the 11-man teams will play at 2pm. I don’t know who the East coach will be yet…

Leveled Vallivue, 49-7

October 24th, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

Vallivue was actually ranked second in our pod/district. They didn’t seem up to the task on Friday night as we pushed them around at will. In fact, our offense really didn’t have that many plays, but we had a lot of scoring. Our running game went over 280yards, our passing game was over 180yrds. We wanted to make sure there was no doubt who was first place in our pod/division — Rocky Mountain!!!

Smother Boise 63-17

October 18th, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

It really wasn’t much of a challenge this last week. We prevailed 63-17 over Boise. Most of the second string and third string players were in the game by mid-third quarter.
I played well. Had 100 pounds over the defensive end I went up against.
We’re looking really good going into our final game and into the playoffs!

Back to Winning Ways — Beating Centennial 16-13

October 11th, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

It wasn’t our prettiest game, but we battled and came out ahead, 16-13.

Both Centennial and us had just about equal stats across the line: W-L, rushing yds, passing yds, yds allowed per game, etc. We knew it was going to be a good challenge for us.

Our O-Line did a very good job of pass blocking. Our run blocking wasn’t quite where we had anticipated, but it came back in form late in the game. With just over 4 minutes left on the clock, we held a slim 3-point margin. We took the ball over on our 20-yard line and needed to keep the ball in our hands. We did it by running and then running and then running again. Oh yeah, there was one 3rd down pass play that we converted, too! When the clock ran out, we were on the Centennial 2 yard line in our Victory formation. I love that formation!

Here’s my highlights:

Loss at CDA 22-34

October 3rd, 2010 jbagsfoo No comments

Well, it may have been bound to happen, but it doesn’t make it feel any better.

We traveled eight hours by bus to get to Coeur d’Alene and then didn’t play our best football. I did well, but the O-Line as a whole didn’t perform the run blocking like we usually do. In fact, our passing game surpassed our running game for the first time this season. (250+ yards passing, 150- yards running).

The pizza after the game helped assuage some of the disappointment, but it was still a long ride home.

Coaches broke down film while returning home, and we watched it at 5am before we returned to our own homes. Yes – it was a long day & evening.
But, got to sleep extra long today and feel much better!
